What inspired you to become a therapist?

I noticed from an early age that people always confided in me and my previous role as a midwife required being able to listen and support women and their families in difficult times. I am very much a people person.  My own personal experience of therapy taught me how life changing it can be, so I retrained and absolutely love what I do.

What do you love most about your work?

I love the different people that I meet. I admire the courage they show in seeking help and the privilege of being able to be there and help my clients when they are facing difficulties and challenges that life can bring. Being part of my client’s journey and seeing them make positive changes is an honour.

Who is your biggest role model and why?

My grandmother Mary for overcoming numerous traumas and loss in her life. Her capacity to find the strength to carry on was incredible.

What do you do to unwind in your spare time?

I love music and I have a diverse taste. I’m at my happiest in the sunshine with my tunes on. I love walking and going on holiday makes me happy! Having time just for me is important too.

If you could trade places with someone for a week, who would it be and why?

Im not sure I would want to be anyone else but Id like to experience life as a man for a day to see how life is from a man’s perspective.
