In our team we have fifteen members of staff, fully qualified in a variety of therapeutic approaches. Our team of counsellors offer professional expertise across industry and commerce, local government, the professions, the public and private healthcare sector, universities and colleges.

Employee Assistance Programmes

Our particular area of expertise is in the delivery of Employee Assistance Programmes which consist of five or six counselling sessions. This may include access to a helpline staffed by counsellors and is a way for employers to offer support to their staff. Packages can be tailor made to suit the needs of the organisation and employees.
Counselling can be arranged in such a manner as to preserve anonymity of clients.

Statistical data is collected for the organisation, such as the number of employees citing work related stress as a reason for accessing the service.

We work with large and small organisations in both the public and private sector and currently provide support for over 35,000 employees across Hull and surrounding areas.

Our EAP services are accessed through occupational health or human resource departments, however we do see private clients if they wish to access our services on a fee paying basis.

Comprehensive Employee Assistance Programmes

Focus Counselling Services (Hull) Ltd provides employee assistance programmes which are structured to your company’s business needs and provides employees access to confidential counselling and support services. Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP’s) are of immense value within organisations helping individuals overcome difficulties and enabling organisations to function more effectively. Benefits to the organisation include:

A Reduction in:

  • Absence due to sickness
  • General absenteeism
  • Staff turnover
  • Law suits and litigation

An Improvement in:

  • Staff morale
  • Performance
  • Staff retention
  • Relationships within an organisation

In providing an EAP, Focus Counselling would initially make an assessment of the type of EAP which most suits your organisation. A variety of EAP solutions would be prepared for consideration. Upon agreement, we would introduce the programme into your organisation, working in partnership with existing employee support services. We can also provide publicity in the form of promotional literature, articles for staff magazines and will visit your organisation to inform staff of the services on offer.

An EAP could consist of:

  • A telephone helpline
  • Short term counselling
  • Couple counselling
  • Conflict resolution
  • Coaching
  • Family therapy services
  • Mediation

An EAP can provide valuable information without compromising the confidentiality of your staff. This can include valuable information like trends and hotspots within the organisation. Highlighting the incidence of bullying, work related stress and discrimination, this enables appropriate action to be taken early.
